Everton youngster Kieran Dowell has revealed to the club’s official website the advice he has been getting from the first-team players.
The 17-year-old signed his first professional contract with the Merseyside outfit earlier, as announced on the club’s official website earlier today.
Dowell has been a regular for Everton’s Under-21 side so far this season and made his debut for the first team against FC Krasnodar in the Europa League back in December.
“Ever since I came up to the seniors this year, it's been something that I have noticed - the first-team players are really friendly and really helpful,” Dowell told Everton’s official website.
“They'll always look to give you little tips for your game which is obviously really good. Roberto has been great, too.
“He has congratulated me [on signing a professional contract] and he's told to just keep going and to work even harder.”
Dowell is a highly-rated midfielder, and him getting a professional contract indicates that he has a bright future ahead.
Roberto Martinez has shown in the past how he can nurture young players, and one suspects that he will do the same with Dowell.
The fact that the teenager has trained with the first-team players and knows them is going to help him in his development and growth as a footballer.
