Gareth Bale’s treatment by Real Madrid fans has seemingly opened the door for an England return.

Gareth Bale had his car attacked as he drove away from Madrid’s El Clasico defeat to Barcelona, having contributed little to the game.

Despite playing a key role in Los Blancos securing the Copa del Rey and the Champions League last season, the Welsh superstar has been made a scapegoat for all Madrid’s failings, and that seems to have affected his form.

With all the attacks aimed at Bale, it would come as no surprise to see the forward look for a move back to England in the summer, and there is one club in particular who may be able to take advantage of the ex-Tottenham star’s availability.

Manchester United have reportedly long held an interest in the winger, and the Mirror reported that they could be looking to turn that interest into a formal bid this summer, regardless of the obscene price tag that will likely be put on the player.

Spurs are also named as a club who could look to bring him back to the Premier League, and Bale could favour a return to the familiar ground of White Hart Lane over a transfer to the Red Devils.

The Lilywhites may face more obstacles that United in the attempt to sign the Welsh international, as they cannot splash out as much money for him, but for a player of Bale’s abilities, it could be wise to take such a financial risk.

United will remain the favourites to secure Bale’s signature, and he would tie in the with the big-spending policy they showed last summer. There is no confirmation as to whether Bale is looking for a move away from Spain, but after this latest round of fan incidents, it would come as no surprise to see him look for a return to the Premier League in the near future.
