Chelsea media round-up: Spain to apply the pressure over injured Diego Costa

Stamford Bridge Inside

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

The Daily Express has reported that Spain want Diego Costa to link up with their squad to have further tests on a hamstring problem.

Costa is thought to have been carrying the issue since the Champions League final last season and is set to miss Spain’s next game at the end of the week.

West London Sport has reported that German giants Bayern Munich want to sign Branislav Ivanovic this summer.

The Serbian defender has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent players this season and is a regular in Jose Mourinho’s back four.

Bayern will have their work cut out to try and sort a deal, which would be in line with what Chelsea would accept.

Chelsea captain John Terry has been praised by the Irish Examiner praising the character shown by the current side.

Chelsea had to dig deep to secure three points last weekend against Hull after seeing a 2-0 lead clawed back by the Tigers.

Terry believes that the standards the club set for themselves means they have to show character in difficult situations.

“When you set the standard so high as we have done from the word go, then start dropping points at home and go out of the Champions League, once again it comes back down to character,” he said.
