Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Pochettino comments on main fear over next two weeks

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told the Daily Mail he’s not worried about Harry Kane picking up a problem with England.

Kane now links up with the senior side after scoring a hat-trick in his last game against Leicester City.

He’s been Tottenham’s best attacking player throughout the current season.

“Am I worried about him picking up an injury on England duty? No, I think it's a very good thing for him,” said Pochettino.

Kane has been quoted by the Scotsman suggesting he ‘can’t wait’ to link up with the national team ahead of games against Lithuania and Italy.

The striker is also refusing to get carried away with his current position, suggesting that hard work is what will keep him in form.

Tottenham may have preferred him to have a rest, but the next two weeks provide him with a chance to maintain his momentum.

“I can’t wait. It has been a dream to be called up but obviously I want to go and play. There is great competition for places and hopefully I can just do my best whilst I am away and see what happens,” he said.

Tottenham owned Alex Pritchard has slammed the performance of his loan side Brentford via the club’s website.

The Bees were pegged back by Millwall, a side fighting against the possibility of relegation down to League One.

He has been critical of the side after they failed to defend a 2-0 lead with a short spell left in the match.

“I think today was one of the poorest games that we have had this season. We have come away with a point so we will take a positive from that but it was a poor display from us,” he said.
