Report: Manchester United scout Brazilian Felipe Anderson

Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on one of Europe's hottest prospects.

Italian website TMW has followed up claims from the paper copy of Tuttosport, which suggest Manchester United sent their chief scout Jim Lawlor to run the rule over Felipe Anderson at the weekend.

The 21-year-old Lazio midfielder has been in sparkling form this season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in his last 11 Serie A appearances.

The report claims the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also interested in the Brazilian, who after a slow start to the campaign is now on fire.

A minor knee injury did not affect him for long and he made it four goals in four games against Hellas Verona on Sunday, in the match the United scout is said to have been watching.

If United are interested in the player they will have to join the queue and with a long-term contract at Lazio Anderson will not come cheap…if at all.

His talent is undeniable and he looks set to light up Europe for some time to come, but he is likely to command a considerable transfer fee if and when he does ultimately move on.

Able to play on both the left and the right wing, were Anderson to arrive at United it may put an end to speculation linking fellow winger Memphis Depay with the same switch.
