Manchester City will temporarily wave goodbye to 13 of their senior stars this week as another international break begins.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side will have been desperately hoping that Hull City would hold out against Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday but ultimately Jose Mourinho’s side won 3-2, leaving the reigning champions six points off top spot.
But there is plenty of football to be played on the other side of the break and for now City’s stars will have international allegiances on their mind.
The club’s official website has taken a closer look at exactly where City’s players will be heading in the coming days, with Bacary Sagna’s France clashing with Fernando’s Brazil and Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony both heading off with the Ivory Coast, to name just a few.
In other news, City loanee Frank Lampard has been speaking about the pressure on Pellegrini.
In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Lampard said, “Manuel is very calm. You can see his nature. He is very experienced and can handle all pressures.”
City have some big games ahead but despite the gap between them and Chelsea they will not have given up on retaining their title just yet.
