One of Celtic's players has been speaking about his progress this season.
The 23-year-old came off the bench to score the second goal in the recent Scottish League Cup final against Dundee United and he also impressed against the same opposition in the Scottish Cup quarter-final replay a few days later.
After spending the recent league match against United on the substitutes’ bench, he has now turned his attention to international duty but he has admitted he had not been thinking about playing for Scotland so soon after his return.
“I was looking more towards the games in June and I was just focusing on Celtic but it’s a good wee boost for me at this time in the season so I’m delighted,” he said.
Scotland take on Gibraltar and Northern Ireland in the coming days and Forrest will be hoping to make an impact if called upon.
He then has the not so small matter of Celtic’s ongoing treble chase, with the league and the Scottish Cup tantalisingly close but still demanding plenty of effort before they are secured.
