Brown Ideye reacts on Twitter to 'bittersweet' news

The West Brom striker will miss out on representing his country through injury.

West Brom striker Brown Ideye admits the international break will be 'bittersweet' for him after he was ruled out of Nigeria's upcoming action through injury.

Ideye, who was signed by the Baggies for a club-record £10 million fee last summer, has endured a mixed season at the Hawthorns but has shown clear signs of coming good at West Brom in recent months.

Injury trouble has caught up with the 26-year-old, however, and he has now been ruled out of Nigeria's two upcoming friendlies.

And the West Brom striker admits the international break will be bittersweet for him as a result. Indeed, Ideye is naturally saddened that he can't represent his country - but he is also glad to be spending time with his family, according to his personal Twitter account:

The 26-year-old has scored seven goals for West Brom in all competitions this season but will hope to produce a greater return for Tony Pulis's side in future.

The Baggies currently sit 14th in the Premier League, having fallen in the standings after their 3-0 loss at Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
