Argentine forward Paulo Dybala is considered hot property by his Italian club, Palermo, although they are resigned to the fact he could be headed elsewhere this summer, with a host of top European sides closely monitoring his progress.
According to outlets such as Metro and The Express, Arsenal are currently favourites to land the signing of Dybala, for a fee of £28.9 million, based on reports by Spanish transfer gossip site, Fichajes.net, who claim that a move to the Emirates is edging ever closer.
Indeed, there are suggestions that Arsenal could beat fellow Premier League side Manchester United, in capturing the 21-year-old at the end of the season. However, there has been strong speculation his preferred destination would be Juventus, ahead of AS Roma, were he to stay in Italy.
One thing Dybala has never hidden, though, is his love for Barcelona, along with his dreams of playing alongside fellow countryman Lionel Messi. Indeed, he couldn't pass up the opportunity to see his idol in action over the weekend, proudly posting an image of himself at the Camp Nou via Instagram.
If Arsenal and Manchester United are serious about their intentions of moving for Dybala, they'll need to move swiftly, because if Barcelona enter the mix with genuine interest, there's really no doubting which option the player will choose.
