Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Luke Parkin on scoring the winner for the Under-21 side on Monday evening.
Parkin scored a late goal at Elland Road to help the Leeds U21 team get the better of their Brentford counterparts 2-1.
The Whites dominated the proceedings in the first half, as Brentford goalkeeper Mark Smith was forced into making a number of important saves, while Brazilian attacking midfielder Adryan rattled the visitors’ crossbar.
However, it was Brentford who broke the deadlock in the second half, when Bradley Clayton and Rodrigues Alves combined to set up Courtney Senior, who found the target with ease.
Leeds, though, launched a late comeback, with Dario Del Fabro heading home the equaliser in the 80th minute.
Then five minutes later, Parkin made it 2-1 to the West Yorkshire outfit when he glanced home a near-posted header following a corner from Chris Dawson.
Following the win, Parkin took to Twitter to revel in Leeds’s triumph over Brentford, with first-team regular Mowatt sending him an encouraging reply.
