Swansea City got the better of Aston Villa 1-0 away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis has taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in his side’s victory over Aston Villa on Saturday.

The France international scored the only goal of the Premier League game at Villa Park in the 87th minute.

The 29-year-old found the target from 12 yards after collecting Jefferson Montero's flicked pass and holding off Ciaran Clark.

Gomis was understandably delighted to have scored the winning goal and posted the following message on Twitter this morning.

The goal must have also increased the confidence of Gomis for the rest of the season, as he has not had the desired effect at the Liberty Stadium so far this campaign.

In 26 Premier League appearances, the former Lyon star has found the target only three times, while creating 12 chances and having a shot accuracy of 37%.

Victory over Villa away from home has lifted Swansea up to eighth in the Premier League table with 43 points from 30 matches.
