Leeds United attacker Adryan reached out to ex-teammate Ronaldinho at the weekend, whose old advice for the youngster is particularly apt.
Brazilian hero Ronaldinho celebrated his 35th birthday at the weekend, and former Flamengo teammate Adryan was one of many to wish him well.
Leeds United loanee Adryan posted a message on his Instagram page congratulating the 2005 Ballon d'Or winner, posting the photo above and following note: Happy Birthday Idol @ronaldinhooficial
Adryan is not just a admiring fan of Ronaldinho, revealing previously to confiding in and receiving tips from his compatriot. It is advice which still holds up and could be particularly applicable to his situation now.
The playmaker told Goal of his chats with the 2002 World Cup winner back in 2011.
He said: "Sometimes I speak to him at Flamengo. I'm very happy to always have someone like this by my side to talk to, somebody I admire so much, not just me but everyone.
"I use him as an example. He's already told me to be patient, that things will happen. I have to listen to the voice of reason, right?"
Patience is exactly what Adryan needs right about now. After breaking into the Leeds first team in October and establishing himself as a starter, he lost his place at the turn of the year.
He has not been picked to start a single Championship game in 2015, and has made only one substitute appearance, playing just 16 minutes in the 3-2 defeat to Watford last month.
He did not kick on from this, failing to make the bench for either of their matches in the last week against Fulham or Blackpool.
Adryan told the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier in the month that he was feeling 'sad' about his current situation, but remembering the 'voice of reason may yet convince him that his fortunes may turn around during the season's final weeks.
