Newcastle United head coach John Carver has been singing the praises of Remy Cabella in The Chronicle.
Cabella has been in good form in recent weeks and seems to have rejuvenated himself under Carver.
The France international attacking midfielder stepped up his game in the second half of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Arsenal at St. James’ Park.
The 25-year-old had two shots, a pass accuracy of 74%, created one chance, put in four crosses, attempted seven dribbles and made two blocks in the 2-1 defeat.
Carver was pleased with what he saw of Cabella and told The Chronicle: “(Remy Cabella) tired a bit towards the end but you’d expect that with the medial ligament injury he was coming back from.
“I knew he would tire but again, he showed some flashes of skill and in the first half in particular he did something which was similar to something I saw at the training ground which I mentioned.
“He’s a huge talent. We’ve already talked about investing in the summer – if we invest in the right way and invest in players like him and get them around him then who knows what we can do?”
Cabella is a truly talented attacker who has some great skills in his bag, and he seems to have regained his form of Montpellier under Carver.
The Frenchman joined Newcastle from the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer of 2014 amid much expectations, but did not make an immediate impact.
Over the last few weeks, though, Cabella has shown his quality, and if Newcastle can get players like him in the summer, then they will certainly become a better team next season.
