The Brazilian midfielder has penned a new deal to keep him with Stefano Pioli’s men until 2020.
Liverpool were being heavily linked with a move for Lazio star Felipe Anderson earlier this month by the Mirror, with talk that Brendan Rodgers had sent a number of scouts to keep tabs on the talented Brazilian star ahead of a potential summer move reported by the Metro.
However, any hopes that the Reds boss could have another Philippe Coutinho on his hands have been dashed, with the Serie A club announcing on their official website that their star turn has signed a new contract in the Italian capital.
Anderson has penned a deal to keep him with the Biancoceleste until 2020 and has clearly been rewarded for excellent form this season.
The Brazil under-21 star has netted eight Serie A goals from an attacking midfield position and provided six assists, which have played an important role in Lazio’s drive for Champions League qualification.
Anderson was overlooked by national selector Dunga in the latest Brazil squad but has proven himself as an up-and-coming star.
The Reds will have to turn their attention elsewhere in the summer transfer market, with Anderson seemingly set to play a considerable role in Lazio’s attempt to return to past days of silverware and glory.
