Liam Cooper felt the result v Blackpool represented a 'good point'.
Leeds United were held to a 1-1 draw at Blackpool yesterday, as they struggled to adapt to what was a woeful playing surface at Bloomfield Road.
They went 1-0 down thanks to a strike from Sheffield Wednesday loanee Gary Madine before substitute Mirco Antenucci scored his second goal in as many games to force a point.
It was not one of Leeds’ greatest performances of the past few weeks, but their recent playing style was impossible on a playing surface that looked more Sunday League than Championship.
It was a tough game and after the game only a small selection of Leeds players decided to Tweet the fans.
Club captain Liam Cooper was one such player. The defender, who has struggled for first-team football recently, thanked the fans for their support on Twitter and admitted it was a tough fixture at the Seaside.
Was always gonna be very tough! Lads dug in for a good point.. Thank you to the fans that travelled, as loud as ever! #MOT— Liam Cooper (@LiamCooper__) March 21, 2015
Meanwhile goalscorer Antenucci also Tweeted after the game. The Italian, who remains a fan favourite despite his recent inactivity, scored his tenth goal of the season in the game.
He rewarded himself afterwards by heading out to dinner with several other players snapped up from Italian football including Casper Sloth, Souleymane Doukara and Tommaso Bianchi:
Leeds fans will hope there will be more to cheer about next week, when they face Blackburn.
