The gunners youngster has suffered with an ankle injury this season.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has certainly seen a few youngsters through to the first team this season. Emiliano Martinez stepped up to the first-team with aplomb earlier in the season. Chuba Akpom has impressed in his fleeting appearances. Francis Coquelin has cemented a first-team place and Hector Bellerin the same.
One Arsenal player however who would have hoped for a similar breakthrough, and has failed, is Isaac Hayden.
The highly thought of defender has been on the periphery of the Arsenal first team for about 18 months, but not quite made it into the squad.
In November his progress was delayed further. He suffered an ankle injury and has spent much of this term on the sidelines.
Today was the former Southend United youngster’s 20th birthday and the England under-20 international has Tweeted his followers to comment on another year gone, in which he admitted this has been a difficult season at the club:

With Arsenal snapping up Gabriel in the winter Hayden has a serious battle on his hands to get into the Arsenal first team in the future.
It would be no surprise to see this talented defender head for pastures new in the summer.
