Wolverhampton Wanderers have maintained their challenge for a Championship playoff spot with a 2-0 victory over Derby County at home.
Kenny Jackett’s side headed into the game at Molineux on Friday evening on the back of a 3-0 home win against Sheffield Wednesday.
Winning against Derby was not going to be easy for Wolves, despite the fact that the Rams have been struggling for form of late.
However, the hosts eventually picked up the three points, courtesy of what proved to be a comfortable 2-0 win.
After a goalless first half, Nouha Dicko put Wolves ahead in the opening minutes of the second period, and Lee Grant’s own goal in the 69t minute saw the home team secure the win.
Victory over Derby has lifted Wolves up to seventh in the Championship table with 65 points from 39 matches, level on points with six-placed Brentford and behind on goal difference.
