West Ham United’s Karren Brady on Arsenal’s chances of finishing second in Premier League

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady says that Arsenal can finish second in the Premier League this season.

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has written in The Sun that Arsenal can finish second in the Premier League this season if they keep their nerve.

Arsenal are currently third in the league table with 57 points from 29 matches, just a point behind defending English champions Manchester City, who are second.

Brady believes that Arsene Wenger’s side can end the 2014-15 campaign above City, but only if they do not panic in the final weeks.

“As for Arsene Wenger’s side, if they keep their nerve they could finish second,” the 45-year-old wrote in her football diary in The Sun.

Can Arsenal finish second?

Arsenal have been in great form in recent weeks, and there is every reason to believe that they can indeed end the season in second place.

The Gunners are now defensively stronger and have some important players back from injury, such as playmaker Mesut Ozil and forward Theo Walcott.

City are struggling at the moment and have lost ground on leaders Chelsea, which has piled extra pressure on manager Manuel Pellegrini.

However, Arsenal have some big games coming up, and much will depend on how they fare in those matches.

Winning against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park today will not be easy, and starting April with a home clash against Liverpool will be even tougher.

Chelsea will visit the Emirates Stadium in April as well, while the Gunners will have to travel to Manchester United in May.
