The Spanish international has finally had surgery to cure his pubis problem.
A fortnight ago it was reported by The Mirror that Tottenham Hotspur were eyeing up a move for Spanish midfielder Ignacio Camacho.
The report said Tottenham were willing to pay £20 million for the Spanish international, who at 24 is really starting to shine at current club Malaga.
However, Tottenham will face competition. According to a report in Inside Spanish Football, that competition will come from his former club, Atletico Madrid.
But news coming out of Malaga today might make Spurs think twice about making a move for the player.
Camacho, who was surprisingly left out of the most recent Spanish squad, has undergone surgery ruling him out of action for at least a month, according to Diario AS.
With the season coming to an end and Malaga essentially settled into a top seven finish the club have decided to act now on an injury problem that has plagued the player for much of the season.
He has had an operation to cure the problem, reported to be in the pubis region, but considering the issues it has caused him all season surely Tottenham Hotspur are better off spending their £20 million elsewhere.
