Newcastle youngster Olivier Kemen was delighted to make the bench against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon - but 'gutted' the St James' Park outfit could not make more of their second-half showing against the north London side.
Newcastle found themselves 2-0 down at home to Arsenal, with another Olivier (Giroud) grabbing both goals for Arsene Wenger's men.
But the hosts couldn't find an equaliser and the Gunners left Tyneside with all three points. The outcome naturally disappointed 19-year-old Kemen - although he was delighted nonetheless to have been named on the bench after impressing during training in recent weeks.
We were unlucky today ... But we showed a great team spirit very happy to be in a bench but gutted for the result pic.twitter.com/dRpK4xVwE1— pablo olivier kemen (@Kemen92) March 21, 2015
Goalscorer Sissoko also took to Twitter to express his pride after Newcastle's in-game improvement.
A similar showing over the whole 90 minutes may just have yielded a greater return against Arsenal...
Positive messages aside, though, Newcastle are now below the team former manager Alan Pardew left the Magpies for - Crystal Palace. Carver needs to produce something in the way of results - even if he won't be at St James' Park beyond the current campaign.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain just one point behind Manchester City and now only four behind league-leaders Chelsea (though Jose Mourinho's men have two games in hand over the Gunners).
