Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Aston Villa will win the Premier League clash against Swansea City this afternoon.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker believes that the Villans’ current run of form will see them pick up all three points at Villa Park.
“Aston Villa look rejuvenated under new manager Tim Sherwood and host the Swans seeking a third win on the bounce after the weekend’s 4-0 demolition job of Sunderland at the Stadium of Light,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Villa have both confidence and momentum behind them at present and are fancied to give their survival chances a massive boost and seal another three points at Villa Park.”
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Villa will indeed head into today’s game as favourites and will be determined to make it four wins out of four in all competitions.
Under manager Tim Sherwood, the Villans have discovered a new belief and have regained their self-confidence.
Last weekend Villa scored no fewer than four goals against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light - a clear sign of improvement.
However, winning against Swansea, even at home, will prove to be more difficult, especially as the Welsh outfit have an impressive group of players and are also aiming for a top-10 finish.
One should not be surprised if the Swans pick up a point at Villa Park, but if Villa score an early goal, then they should be able to register a win.
