A select round-up of the latest news relating to Leeds United…
Leeds United take on Blackpool this afternoon with the two sides enjoying mixed fortunes.
The Whites have climbed up to 12th in the table following their midweek victory against Fulham while today’s hosts lost heavily to Charlton Athletic and remain 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
In early team news, the BBC reports that Leeds may include loanee Granddi Ngoyi in their match-day squad while the previously injured Rudy Austin could also return.
Steve Morison is said to be pushing for a recall while youngster Kalvin Philips could be named on the bench.
Blackpool are reportedly hoping Charles Dunne overcomes illness to play.
In other news, former Leeds player Imre Varadi has been speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his time at Elland Road.
He reserved special praise for two of his former colleagues Gary Speed and David Batty.
“And that midfield,” he said, “Speedo my word, you could see he was the real deal. What a leap he had, and then there was Batty, the local lad.”
Varadi was very much a journeyman but his time at Leeds clearly sticks in his memory; a club for whom he made only 26 appearances in three years.
