Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that Liverpool will win the Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday.
The former Liverpool defender believes that playing at Anfield will give Brendan Rodgers’ side a crucial advantage.
“I fancy Liverpool with the form that they are in but Manchester United did play really well last week,” the 37-year-old told Sky Sports.
“I just think it being at Anfield, and watching Liverpool beat Man City there a couple of weeks ago, if they put in the same performance they may just shade it, 2-1.”
Could Jamie Carragher’s prediction come true?
Playing at home will certainly give Liverpool an edge, and one suspects that the Reds will step up their game.
Liverpool are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League in 2015, and they will certainly be keen on maintaining that record.
However, United will head into Sunday’s match on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The way the Red Devils dismantled Spurs at home is something that should worry Liverpool.
Louis van Gaal’s side will probably be happy with a point at the home of their fierce rivals, but their chances of winning at Anfield should not be written off.
