Forest suffered their heaviest defeat under manager Dougie Freedman, as they went down 3-1 to Norwich City away from home in the Championship.
Hosts Norwich took the lead on the stroke of half time when Jonny Howson fired home from close range after being teed up by Wes Hoolahan.
The Canaries doubled their lead at Carrow Road 11 minutes into the second half, with Cameron Jerome turning in a cross from Martin Olsson.
Chris Burke brought down Olsson inside the Forest penalty box, and Hoolahan made no mistake from 12 yards to make it 3-0 to Forest.
Although Burke pulled one back for the Reds in the 76th minute, it proved to be a mere consolation for the visitors.
Following the loss, Forest chairman Al-Hasawi posted the following message on Twitter.
We will never give up still there is 7 games to go COYR #nffc— @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI (@fawaz_alhasawi1) March 21, 2015
It seems that Al-Hasawi believes that Forest can still make it to the Championship playoffs, but following today’s defeat, it is going to be very tough.
The Nottingham-based outfit are currently ninth in the league table with 57 points from 39 matches, 10 points behind sixth-placed Ipswich Town.
With games against Wolverhampton Wanderers (H), Brentford (A), Watford (H) and Ipswich (A) to come next week, Forest have their work cut out.
