Newcastle United welcome Arsenal to St James’ Park this afternoon for what could be a very exciting match.
The Magpies are currently 11th in the table but they have the players to cause Arsenal plenty of problems.
As for the Gunners, they will not want to lose grip on third place, knowing full well how tight the race for Champions League qualification is this year.
Fabricio Coloccini is suspended for Newcastle and his absence could prove to be a big blow against an impressive Arsenal front-line.
With six consecutive wins against Newcastle, Arsenal will be many people’s favourites to make that seven, but John Carver’s side will have other ideas and this really could go either way if the hosts are on form.
Newcastle have not lost back-to-back league games for almost a year, and they will not want to start now. But Arsenal will want to keep putting the pressure on Manchester City and that means winning this afternoon.
