Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski: I don’t know where I’ll be next year

The Germany international has confessed that he does not know where he will play his football next season.

Arsenal fringe figure Lukas Podolski has admitted that he is unsure of where he will play his football next season, with his future at the North London club clearly in doubt.

The Germany international was limited to a number of appearances from the bench in the first half of the Premier League season, with the former Bayern Munich man not starting a single domestic fixture.

As such Podolski has been farmed out to Italian side Inter Milan on loan, where he has struggled to refine his best form as yet.

The German attacker has previously confessed that he is likely to return to Arsenal this summer, with no permanent deal to take him to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in place.

However, Podolski’s latest comments suggest that he could well be sold by the Gunners ahead of next season.

“I don’t know where I will be next year, I’m just focusing on the next game,” Podolski told FC Inter News.

“What do I want? We will see. Right now I do not know and I just want to focus on Inter.”

Roberto Mancini’s men have been going through a tough time of late, not winning any of their last five games and being eliminated from the Europa League by a rampant Wolfsburg in midweek.

Podolski has featured in nine Serie A games since moving to Italy, but is yet to hit the back of the net for his temporary employers.

The presence of Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez mean that Podolski will most likely have to leave the Emirates Stadium permanently to secure regular first-team football.
