West Brom striker Saido Berahino declares himself 'honoured' at England U-21 call

The Baggies forward is pleased to be representing his country again next week.

There has been much debate this week about the England under-21s, after Hull City midfielder Tom Ince rejected a call-up from Gareth Southgate. The talent, who is currently on loan at Derby County, has ruled himself out of contention for the Under-21 European Championships in the summer as well. The former Blackpool star wants to concentrate on his topsy-turvy club career.

One man who has welcomed a call up with open arms is West Brom striker Saido Berahino.

He leads an impressive looking squad which also includes the likes of Danny Ings, James Ward-Prowse and John Stones.

Of course the West Brom talent might have been upset with the call. He recently made it into the England senior squad, but the form of Harry Kane seems to have cost him another call up this time around.

But Berahino seemed pleased enough as he posted this Tweet earlier today:

The West Brom lad gets plenty of stick from some quarters over his attitude but it is a great relief to see him so pleased to be representing his country, at any level.

Here’s to a bright future for Berahino in the England set-up.
