The New Zealander is pushing for a recall as he steps up recovery from a hamstring problem.
One key absentee has been central defender Winston Reid. The New Zealand international has been out of action since the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the start of the month as he is suffering with a hamstring injury.
The Kiwi, who recently signed a new deal at the club, is an integral member of the West Ham defence and they have clearly missed him recently. With James Tomkins also out with a dislocated shoulder, Hammers fans are restless at the thought of waiting much longer for the defender’s return.
This week he has shown the West Ham fans just how hard he is working in his comeback from injury.
He was videoed by FanBookz in training this week, where the work he does to get back to full fitness was highlighted.
It was good to see that he was the, as he put it himself, ‘last man standing’ at the training ground, showing his determination to get back to full fitness as soon as possible.
This weekend’s tie against Sunderland may come too soon for the player, who recently signed a long-term new deal at Upton Park, but it seems it will not be long before he is back in action.
