A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.
Tottenham Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino has challenged his players who may be heading towards the exit door in the summer to prove they have a future at White Hart Lane, the London Evening Standard reports.
Vlad Chiriches, Younes Kaboul, Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado, Paulinho and Etienne Capoue are all mentioned as players who may be leaving in the summer, but they may getting the opportunities from the Spurs boss.
He said: “I am always open. It is never too late. The players need to feel they always have the opportunity to show us that they can stay here. But we are starting to work on strengthening the team.
“My idea is to improve every season. That is what we are working very hard to identify where we can do that, to make our squad better for next year.”
Pochettino is also determined to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United last weekend, according to Sky Sports.
Spurs are now six points behind in the race for the top four and the Spurs boss things the problems encountered at Old Trafford will be 'easy' to fix.
He said: "The way we played we are all agreed we were poor, it was not a good performance, and on that we all agree."
Tottenham face a home game against basement battlers Leicester City this weekend in the Premier League, a fixture they lost in the fourth round of the FA Cup, and defender Ben Davies has told the Tottenham website that it's a result that keeps the side on their toes.
“That result in the FA Cup keeps us on our toes, it’s a warning there for us that they have showed us what they can do if we give them the opportunity.
“But we can’t think about that game or even Boxing Day, we have to focus on our game, try to impose ourselves and if we play the way we can, I’m sure we can get the three points.”
