Norwich v Forest predicted lineups and match preview

Norwich City and Nottingham Forest will go in search of precious points during Championship clash at Carrow Road.

To be played on Saturday 21st March 2015 at 15:00. Venue: Carrow Road, Norwich

Odds: Norwich 4/6, Draw 14/5, Forest 4/1

Every point is vital at this stage of the season, but both Norwich City and Nottingham Forest could do with taking all three at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Obviously that can’t happen, but both sides should be expected to go all out in pursuit of another timely success.

Norwich remain in the hunt for automatic promotion, but back-to-back draws have dropped them off the pace and they now sit five points adrift of the top two.

They displayed commendable battling qualities to snatch a point at Huddersfield Town in midweek – hitting back on a two occasions, including a 98th-minute leveller, to claim a 2-2 draw.

More of the same will be required on home soil this weekend, with Alex Neil aware of the need to build momentum in the midst of a congested Championship pack.

Forest certainly have the wind in their sails, but their charge under Dougie Freedman may have come too late.

Despite their heroic efforts under the Scot’s guidance – with 23 points taken from the last 30 on offer – they remain eight points adrift of the play-off places.

Anything less than another victory in Norfolk could see them ruled out of the running and attention turned towards next season – following a full pre-season under the guidance of their new boss.

“If we have any aspirations to be near the top end of the table we have to be winning games, and I have told the players that as well. The disappointment comes from the fact that we have given ourselves a much more difficult task between now and the end of the season to see if we can finish in that top two, when we were in a fantastic position.”
Alex Neil

Forest predicted lineup

  • Karl Darlow
  • Jamaal Lascelles
  • Eric Lichaj
  • Michael Mancienne

“I think we’re an outside chance, but there’s more pressure on the teams above us to get results because they’re closer. In the position we’re in we’ve just got to take it game by game and see if other results go our way. We’re one of the hot teams in the Championship at the moment and hopefully we can just keep that going.”
Eric Lichaj
