Both Spurs and Leicester will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League, and the former Liverpool defender has backed the hosts to pick up the three points with a 2-1 victory.
“Leicester have already won once at White Hart Lane this season, in the FA Cup fourth round, but it is hard to see a repeat of that this weekend,” the 57-year-old wrote on BBC Sport.
“This might be a scruffy game of football because Leicester's situation at the bottom of the table means they need a win, and they probably won't be too bothered about playing pretty football to try to get it.
“The Foxes don't quite need snookers yet but, sticking with the same analogy, they are tucked up behind the black and it will be very difficult for them to get out of trouble from there.”
Could Leicester City stage an upset at White Hart Lane?
Tottenham will be heavy favourites to win on Saturday, and one would have to be brave to predict anything otherwise.
Despite Spurs’ 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, the North London outfit remain a strong team who will have the home fans behind them against Leicester.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have bounced back from defeats before this season, and one suspects that they will do so on Saturday.
However, Tottenham should not get complacent against Leicester. Although manager Nigel Pearson does not have the squad to compete against Spurs, if the visitors get an early goal, then they could make life tough for the hosts.
