Moreno is likely to start the Premier League clash at Anfield at left-back, and former Liverpool defender Riise hopes that he finds the winner.
“Maybe Sunday will kick-start someone’s Liverpool career like it did for me in 2001,” the 34-year-old APOEL star told The Liverpool Echo.
“Scoring that goal helped me so much and it could be the same for one of the current side. Who knows, maybe Moreno will get the winner. I hope he does.
“Moreno is my kind of player. He loves to attack. He’s quick and he strikes the ball well. He scored a great goal against Tottenham.
“A lot of fans on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram tell me that this lad plays like me. I think he’s the best left-back Liverpool have had since I left.”
Moreno joined Liverpool from Sevilla in the summer of 2014 and has made a positive impact at Anfield.
Despite going through a spell when he struggled, the Spain international is now one of the first names on the Liverpool teamsheet.
In 23 Premier League appearances so far this season, Moreno has scored two goals and created 27 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 82% and winning 48% of the duels.
Moreno is all-round left-back, and he will be a key player for Brendan Rodgers’s side against United on Sunday.
Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 54 points from 29 matches, just two points behind United, who are fourth.
