Jamie Redknapp has predicted on Skysports.com that Liverpool will win against Manchester United on Sunday.
Liverpool will host the Red Devils at Anfield in a Premier League game which could have a big impact on the race for the top fur.
Former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp expects the encounter to be competitive and entertaining, and he has backed a home win.
“However, I’ve got a feeling Liverpool will be too quick, too strong and have too much for United,” the 41-year-old wrote on Skysports.com.
“I’m going for a 2-1 Liverpool win. Liverpool are in such good form and the crowd will be up for this one.
"Three points for them will move them above United and that will be an important change at the top – although you feel there are still more turns to come in this race for a Champions League place.”
Could Jamie Redknapp’s prediction come true?
Liverpool will head into Sunday’s game at Anfield as favourites, mainly because they are the in-form team in the Premier League and are also at home.
Brendan Rodgers’s side have become stronger defensively and remain a threat in attack, which will be a worry for United.
However, the way in which Louis van Gaal’s side dismantled fellow top-four-chasing Tottenham Hotspur last weekend shows that they can step up in big games.
Much will depend on which team make the better start. If Liverpool score an early goal, then United may struggle to pick up a point.
