Birmingham City have loaned out young left-back Amari'i Bell to League One side Gillingham until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old can play either in the full-back position or in a more advanced role and has had spells on loan at Mansfield Town and Swindon already this campaign.
Tall and athletic, Bell has had a good run in the Birmingham City reserves and will be hoping to finish this season on a high to improve his chances of the Blues taking up the option on his contract.
With fellow young full-back Mitch Hancox out of contract at the end of the season and Jonathan Grounds tipped to move inside to centre-half, Bell could yet transition fully into the Birmingham City team if he can convince Gary Rowett of his ability while out on loan. Although he lacks the drive and tenacity of Hancox, Bell has more pace and athleticism which enables him to drive forwards and beat his man.
The Blues manager has been careful to ensure that Bell's loan spell sees him in a team that will test his abilities as much as possible and has reassured all of the young players that have gone out on loan that their performances will be monitored as they look to prove their worth for next season.
The Burton-upon-Trent born defender made his debut for Birmingham City in the Championship last season against Leicester and has made 10 appearances while on loan at Swindon in League One.
