Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ victory over Derby County at home this evening.
Wolves registered a superb 2-0 win against the Rams at Molineux in the the Championship.
After a goalless first half, Nouha Dicko broke the deadlock in the opening minutes of the second period when he shot home with his left foot after latching onto a pass from Kevin McDonald.
It became 2-0 to Wolves midway through the second half when goalkeeper Lee Grant scored an own goal.
Former Wolves striker Griffiths was watching the Championship encounter on television, and he was impressed with the team’s performance, especially that of Bakary Sako.
Mali international striker Sako played the entire 90 minutes, during which time he took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 83%, created one chance, put in two crosses, attempted nine dribbles, and made one clearance.
Victory over Derby has lifted Wolves up to seventh in the Championship table with 65 points with 39 matches, level on points with sixth-placed Brentford but behind on goal difference.
