After beating Chelsea, PSG handed Spanish Champions League opponents

Laurent Blanc's reward for beating Chelsea in the last 16 is a tough Champions League draw against Barcelona.

It may have taken them two attempts, but Paris Saint-Germain finally got the better of Chelsea in the Champions League. Eliminated by away goals last season, Thiago Silva’s last-gasp header saw the French side knock Jose Mourinho's troops out of Europe’s elite football competition second time around.

PSG’s reward for knocking out one of the favourites is to play FC Barcelona over two-legs for a place in the semi-finals.

It could have been worse for the Ligue 1 side as they will be happy to have avoided Bayern Munich or a meeting with former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, but Barcelona is probably the third toughest test they could face.

Both sides have already played twice in the competition at the group stage, but this will be a much tougher proposition for the side from the French capital.

PSG won the first game 3-2 at the Parc des Princes, they were then beaten 3-1 in the Camp Nou in the second and last group game.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the game in Paris after he was handed a one-game ban for his red card against Chelsea, but he also missed the first game last term and PSG played some excellent football without him.

It will all be set up for Ibrahimovic to turn up in Barcelona and try and inspire his PSG side to a place in the semi-finals.

Here is the best of the twitter reaction from Chelsea’s conquerors drawing Barcelona in the Champions League.
