Manchester City media round-up: Barca duo full of admiration for Joe Hart

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.

Barca star Messi has heaped praise onto City goalkeeper Joe Hart, as quoted by the BBC.

The attacker has described the England number one as a ‘phenomenon’ for the way he performed in the match last night.

Hart pulled off a number of top quality saves to keep his team in the game.

“He saved everything. We had a lot of clear chances but the keeper had a brilliant game,” said Messi.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has been quoted by Goal also piling the praise onto Hart.

The Barca shot stopper had the benefit of being able to watch his direct number in action from a distance as Barca looked to pull away during the game.

He’s revealed that he couldn’t help but sit back and admire Hart’s performance.

“I have not seen anything like it and you have to acknowledge it. That was world class,” he said.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been quoted by FourFourTwo simply admitting that Barcelona were a better team against his side.

Barca knocked City out of the Champions League last night following a 1-0 win in the Nou Camp.

Pellegrini has held his hands up and admitted that Barca were the better team, unsurprisingly picking out a talented Argentine for praise.

“I think we lost against a better team without a doubt. Lionel Messi is very difficult to contain,” said the Chilean.
