Freedman pinpoints what impressed him about Forest's latest win

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman was pleased with the way his team went about the match against Rotherham last night.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has told the club’s website what impressed him about the team’s win against Rotherham United last night.

Freedman guided the side to another solid victory, continuing the positive form the side has shown since he replaced former manager Stuart Pearce.

He’s explained he was impressed by the way his team perfectly executed their game plan against the Championship strugglers last night to stroll to another victory.

“I thought it was a fantastic performance, a really professional performance. We managed it well, grew into the game and took our chances when they came along,” said the boss.

“We had a plan tonight to dampen the game in the first 15 minutes and we knew the chances would come.”

Forest have maintained their position in ninth place in the table and the side remains eight points away from a position in the top six.

It was always going to be a difficult match against Rotherham because of the fight they are showing to avoid the drop back down into League One.

What the performance showed is that Forest can take that sort of pressure, showing the patience needed to get into a game and slowly take control in the key areas.

It also shows that the players have got a firm grip over the message Freedman is trying to drill into them, executing different plans perfectly on a match by match basis.

Forest now face a trip to Norwich and it will be interesting to see if they can head into the next international break with the positivity around the club intact.
