Former Nottingham Forest loanee Jack Hunt says he is 'gutted' with his City Ground return

New York Stadium sign, Rotherham

The Crystal Palace owned defender came off injured for Rotherham United last night.

Nottingham Forest continued to keep their faint promotion hopes alive last night with an important 2-0 victory over Rotherham United at The City Ground.

The club have been in great form under the management of Dougie Freedman since he took over at the club and this win keeps them in the race for the play-off places with a fixture against fellow promotion chasers Norwich City at the weekend crucial.

For Rotherham however it is a different story. They continue to fight relegation and are just six points ahead of Wigan Athletic in the final relegation spot.

Yesterday’s fixture was particular upsetting for one Rotherham player, who was excited about a return to Forest.

Jack Hunt is currently on loan with The Millers until the end of the season from Crystal Palace. Prior to that he was on loan at Forest for the first six months of the campaign – playing 19 times under Stuart Pearce.

The full-back, who is yet to play for Crystal Palace since his move from Huddersfield Town, did not finish the game in Nottingham. He came off injured for Frazer Richardson after just 48 minutes and Tweeted this message after the game:

Considering his recent run of injuries Hunt will be hoping the problem is not too serious.
