West Bromwich Albion have once again been linked with a move for Celtic central defender Virgil van Dijk by the Birmingham Mail.
The 23-year-old has been earning rave reviews at Parkhead this season for his performances for the Bhoys. With safety almost certainly assured for the Baggies, Tony Pulis will be planning how to improve a West Bromwich Albion side which has struggled for much of this campaign and van Dijk may be a target.
With Joleon Lescott, Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson all in their thirties, Pulis will no doubt be looking at younger blood to build a new West Bromwich Albion side around and van Dijk would fit that bill admirably.
Despite his relative youth, van Dijk has already made 61 appearances for Celtic in the Scottish Premier League and the former Under-21 Dutch international would surely be ready for a step up to the Premier League.
West Brom have also been linked this week with Sevilla's left-sided centre-half Timothee Kolodziejczak. The 23-year-old Frenchman known as "Kolo" signed for the Spanish side for €3 million last summer, but there is speculation he may be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Should West Brom complete a move for either player then it's almost certain that they will have to move on at least one of their centre-backs with 35-year-old Gareth McAuley being favourite to go as his contract expires at the end of the season.
Whether the Baggies do go for a central defender remains to be seen as the priority for strengthening the squad would probably be up front - especially if the highly-rated Saido Berahino moves on.
