Sanchez and Isla are international teammates for Chile, and the QPR man has told the Standard that Arsenal are the perfect team for the forward to now develop his talents until he is the best in the world.
Sanchez signed for the Gunners last summer and has been a revelation in the Premier League. He has an impressive 19 goals and 10 assists in 40 games across all competitions and, although he has slowed down somewhat recently, there is no doubt that his debut season in England has been a resounding success.
The former Udinese attacker left Barcelona as his role in the team came under threat due to the arrival of Luis Suarez, and the Gunners have been the ones to benefit. Many would suspect that he is at the top of his game this season, and it looks like he will pass his best ever goalscoring return of 21 strikes by the end of this campaign.
However, Chilean teammate Mauricio Isla - who also arrived in the Premier League this season, signing on loan with QPR - believes that Sanchez can develop even further at Arsenal, and can rightfully claim the title of best player in the world.
Speaking to the Standard, Isla, who will line-up alongside Sanchez for his nation against Brazil at the Emirates in March, said: “He [Sanchez] has always said that he wanted to be the best in the world and now he has arrived in a team where this can truly become a reality.
“He can build confidence and where they play for him and he transmits the confidence that his teammates give him but honestly, I am not at all surprised by the quality of Alexis as a player.”
