Photo: Peter Schmeichel shares picture of Leicester stopper Kasper as a boy

The Danish legend is never afraid to red face his son with a public display of affection.

Parents simply cannot help themselves sometimes, especially when it comes to pictures of their kids. Something no grown adult wants is their parent sharing a picture of you as a kid for the world to see.

That goes for professional footballers as well.

Unfortunately for one Leicester City player he has a fairly famous footballing dad, who is pretty proud of his son.

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel shared this picture on his official Twitter account earlier today:

It appears to show him and son Kasper Schmeichel, now the number one goalkeeper at Leicester City, when the latter was a young boy.

Judging by the kit this looks to be in the elder Schmeichel’s time with Sporting Lisbon, between 1999 and 2001. That would mean that young Kasper is only about 15-16 in the picture.

While embarrassing as it might be, and we are sure the lads at Leicester have given him plenty of stick, there is no doubting the role Peter had in moulding the career of his son.

Now 28-years-old and a Premier League stopper, Kasper has certainly done alright for himself.

He is currently out of action with a broken metatarsal but is expected to be back in the Leicester goal in the coming weeks.
