Micah Richards drops hint over his future beyond this season

Liverpool, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur could be left disappointed as they aim to sign Micah Richards.

Manchester City owned Micah Richards gave an update on his future on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show for talkSPORT.

The Daily Mail reported last month that Liverpool and West Ham United were interested in him, while the Metro have also linked Tottenham Hotspur with a potential move for the player.

However, the trio of top flight clubs could be disappointed if any of the reports over their interest are accurate.

“I’m enjoying it here – the sun, the food - the training is less intense and I’ve lost quite a bit of weight,” he said.

“I’d like to yeah (stay in Italy) – It really all depends on where I’m going to play the most football.”

Richards’ deal with Manchester City expires in the summer, which means he’ll be free to move as a free agent.

He’s been playing well in Italy and staying there is a realistic option, as he’s proving he’s got what it takes to play in Serie A.

A return to the Premier League is also an option because Richards may have ambitions to force his way back into the England setup under Roy Hodgson.

As things stand there’s no indication that City are going to offer him a new contract, so it’s going to come down to which club can sell themselves to him most effectively and convince him that they are his best proposition.
