Mandaric: Chansiri is already making plans for Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday were recently taken over by Dejphon Chansiri and he has the supporter of former owner Milan Mandaric.

Former Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric has told the Yorkshire Post of the exciting discussions that he has had with the club's new owner Dejphon Chansiri.

Chansiri has recently taken over at Hillsborough and Mandaric believes that the Thai will be able to guide them to the Premier League.

He says that Chansiri is already making plans about how he can improve Wednedsay, and Mandaric is expecting improvements both on and off the field.

“He told me what he wants to do with the club, making improvements on the stadium, and giving Stuart a tremendous lift when the transfer window comes and starting to recruit players for next season," Mandaric explained.

"He is already making plans for next season, you see what’s happening at this club and other clubs. In football there is no guarantees. If anyone tells you ‘I will be promoted next season’, I think what you should do is make a plan for the next two or three years.

“If you can do it sooner than three years, great. But there’s one thing, this gentleman wants promotion. I am quite sure he will find a way to do it.”

Mandaric's comments are sure to make Wednesday supporters even more excited about the new era they are heading into.

Wednesday have been operating under financial constraints for some time, but they finally appear to have the finances to bring in the quality required to get them back to the Premier League.

Already Chansiri has helped bring in the likes of Sergiu Bus and Will Keane, and the hope is that more players will arrive in the summer.

Wednesday already have a solid platform to build upon, but they will need extra quality up front if they are to go up next season, and Gray is sure to already be looking for potential targets now he has funds available.
