Leeds United round-up: Crowe klaxon, mocking Huddersfield, midfielder makes debut

A round-up of Leeds United items ahead of their clash with Fulham.

Is tonight the night Crowe steps in?

Last month Hollywood actor and Leeds fan Russell Crowe had fans abuzz after responding to a message from a supporter on Twitter asking if he would be interested in buying the club. The BBC even reported interest from the New Zealander.

Well the night Leeds are playing in London against Fulham, Crowe is also in the city, promoting new film The Water Diviner, as he confirmed via Twitter.

It may be a long shot, but if there was ever a chance for the actor to sneak in to try and watch his favourite football side in action, a match at Fulham's far-from intimidating Craven Cottage could present a case of perfect timing. If there was time to be on alert for such an unlikely event, tonight is the night.

A Leeds fan group interested in buying a stake in the club also stated their intention, via SkySports to meet with Crowe in light of his recent comments, and the potential for paths to cross and a meeting to take place is laid out, should the actor be so accommodating.

Over-celebration

When is a corner, not just a corner? When it's a Huddersfield Town corner apparently.

Leeds fans used Twitter to mock their Yorkshire rivals after Town used a big graphic marking a corner as part of their in-game coverage.

There were dozens of messages in response from Leeds fans like the below in response...

Ngoyi edges towards first team bow

Midfield signing Granddi Ngoyi is moving closer to his first team bow. The loanee has not played since picking up a thigh injury since his January switch from Palermo, but there has been progress.

The club's official website confirmed Ngoyi made his debut for the under-21s on Tuesday against Crystal Palace. He could though not stop them losing 4-2.

The Frenchman played 88 minutes which was more than the hour suggested ahead of the game by Neil Redfearn, who had said if he came through unscathed he would come into consideration for selection against Blackpool at the weekend.
