Derby County may have been beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough last night, but it was a special occasion for one of their players.
Jamie Hanson was handed his home debut by Steve McClaren and he did a stellar job in the Rams defence.
The 19-year-old is tipped to become a star of the future and he is further evidence of the quality that Derby have in their youth ranks.
Already the likes of Will Hughes and Mason Bennett have come out of Derby's youth system to become first-teamers and it appears Hanson will be next in line to receive some senior action.
The young defender impressed in his first game against Norwich City at the weekend and McClaren kept faith in him yesterday evening.
In the end, Hanson's first taste of playing at the iPro Stadium didn't go to plan as Patrick Bamford's goal gave Middlesbrough a massive three points, but the youngster could still feel proud of his performance.
During the game he won four of his defensive duels, made four interceptions and won three headers, showing that he has the ability to perform at this level.
He was obviously delighted to have received an opportunity too, and he took to Twitter after the match to thank the side's supporters.
