Former Tottenham Hotspur hero Glenn Hoddle was delighted to see his old side Monaco overcome Arsenal.
Former England boss Glenn Hoddle was thrilled to see his old side Monaco knock out rivals Arsenal.
The former Spurs midfielder and manager sent a message out via his Twitter account, revelling in the achievement for the Ligue 1 club.
Arsenal fans must be Frustrated today but a great effort by the Team lost it at the Emirates my old club will be happy to go this far !— Glenn Hoddle (@GlennHoddle) March 18, 2015
Hoddle played under Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger while at Monaco, and still retains an affinity for the side where he spent four seasons.
Monaco defeated Arsenal on away goals, with the scoreline 3-3 on aggregate. Arsenal won 2-0 in the second leg, but the damage was done in the home match at The Emirates when the visitors scored three.
Hoddle had warned in the lead up to the game via The Mail that the Gunners would be in for a difficult test, but he must have been nervous for his old side after Aaron Ramsey scored a second with 10 minutes remaining.
