Celtic star Anthony Stokes has commented on his red card against Dundee United.
Celtic's Anthony Stokes was sent off during the club's 4-0 win over Dundee United.
The ex-Arsenal youngster was given a straight red card for lashing out at Paul Paton in the closing minutes of the match.
United's Ryan McGowan was soon after dismissed himself for a separate incident, and Stokes insists he was the one wronged.
He used his Twitter page to defend his actions, and criticise his opponent.
Great performance tonight! On another note I get a sly elbow in the face by someone that has nothing about them and get sent off, typical!— Anthony Stokes (@stoksey10) March 18, 2015
Stokes will now be banned for the upcoming match against the same opponents at the weekend, their fourth in a row.
Celtic's convincing win took them through to the semi-final of the Scottish Cup, with their dreams of a magnificent treble in Ronny Deila's first season as boss very much alive.
The club's goals were scored by Jason Denayer, Leigh Griffiths, Kris Commons and Virgil van Dijk, with Stokes providing the assist for the first goal from a set piece.
The club won the Scottish League Cup final against Dundee United at the weekend.
