George Boyd epitomises Burnley team spirit this season

Hard work and team spirit have become Burnley’s trademark this season and George Boyd epitomises these ethics.

Burnley moved to within one point of safety with a surprise victory over champions Manchester City on Saturday.

George Boyd scored the all-important goal in a 1-0 success as Sean Dyche’s men gave themselves a great chance of staying in the Premier League.

The Clarets have become known for their hard-working nature and team spirit this season, which has won many neutrals over.

Despite being on an extremely limited budget compared to most other Premier League clubs, Burnley have managed to claim numerous scalps including draws with Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as taking four points against City.

A quick look at the running data for the season, per Sky Sports, shows that Burnley have covered the most distance in the league which is testament to their hard working style.

Only teammate Scott Arfield has ran further than Boyd this term. The former Peterborough man was signed from Hull City on Deadline Day and has settled in superbly alongside a bunch which Dyche has kept together after their promotion campaign last year.

Boyd epitomises hard work and also has that extra bit of quality in the final third as he fired the winner against Manuel Pellegrini’s title challengers.
