Wigan Athletic kept their hopes of maintaining their Championship status alive with a weekend win over relegation rivals Rotherham United.
Malky Mackay responded by bringing in Liverpool youngster Jerome Sinclair on a youth loan until the end of the season.
Sinclair is highly regarded by the staff at Anfield and this loan is seen as a stepping stone on the way to the first team. The striker is prolific at youth level and has an extremely bright future ahead of him.
He follows club mate Sheyi Ojo to the DW Stadium, with the 17-year-old winger having already made an impression at the club in his eight league appearances.
The duo will be hoping to link-up to not only help Wigan survive in the Championship but also prove that they are capable of becoming members of the Liverpool first-team.
At the moment, Brendan Rodgers has an abundance of attacking talent at his disposal with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe both coming through the academy in recent years. He will not be afraid to promote either Sinclair or Ojo should they impress.
Sinclair and Ojo are the latest young English talents to surface at Anfield and whilst there is no doubt this stint at Wigan will do them good, it will be extremely difficult for either to immediately become regulars at their parent club.
